Puerto Rico

The night (really just a few hours) before we were going to leave for Thailand, we looked at the flights and they looked fine going to Bangkok...horrible coming back. So we came up with plan B...Puerto Rico! We landed in San Juan after midnight, then rented our car...1:30am. Got something to eat..2:30 am, and drove towards our hotel. We were not about to pay for a hotel room at 3:00 in the morning. So instead we parked at a walmart and slept in our teeny tiny car! We took a two hour nap and then drove to the jungle!
The El Yunque Jungle is BEAUTIFUL, although I have no pictures that do it justice :( . Keith found "El Yunques best kept secret" waterfall and we had it all to ourselves at 6 in the morning! We explored the jungle for a few hours and then checked into our fancy schmancy El Conquistador Waldorf Astoria resort at 9 am. (Isn't that awesome they let us check in so early?!)
And isn't this a beautiful view? Keith was drooling over the golf course.
After our nap we took the funicular to the ferry.
Then the ferry to the resorts private island of Palomino!
We loved this little island paradise with white sand beaches and crystal clear water. During the next few days we played a lot in the water, laid on lounge chairs, played horseshoes and corn hole and soccer, went on a hike and discovered our own private beach! About 45 minutes after we got there, a tropical storm rolled it! Good thing we had this shelter! It was quite the adventure!
We also enjoyed all the beautiful pools and the water park!  Puerto Rico, you lovely island...!
